This is not the ideal place for such a comment, but since Solveig did provide links here to some of her recent articles, at least one of which you cannot respond to unless you pay money, and since it is only fair that one be able to respond to a public statement in a way that it is made known to the original audience of that statement (i.e. here), I think bringing up one of those older pieces here is fine. I refer to the article in the Spectator titled "In Georgetown, the scariest part of Halloween is the virtue-signaling", published in October 2025. Because my response is too long for the space a comment box allows, I can only provide a link to it on a separate blog site (https://megamattc.wordpress.com/2026/08/18/response-to-solveig-golds-in-georgetown-the-scariest-part-of-halloween-is-the-virtue-signaling/). Here the claim is that some US college students are engaging in woke virtue signaling during Halloween with their mockery of members of the Trump administration and seasonally appropriate expressions about the fall of American democracy. Secondarily, they are engaging in woke behavior because they seemingly do not bother to come to understand the point of view of the officials and policies they criticize or people who support those officials and policies......"
